What is a Paramedic
I am a Paramedic for 29 years and can tell some stories that could be unbelievable. A paramedic is a trained professional that wakes in the middle of the night when a call goes out for someone having chest pains or having a hard time breathing. A paramedic is someone that come to the aid of a injured person or child at any time of the day or might. No we do not do this to get the rush of running red lights and sirens or just to wake you up as you sleep, because God knows we would love to get some of that also. Just remember, when you see a ambulance with red lights going and sirens blaring, if you are driving pull to the right, give them the right of way because you never know if it may be a loved one that is in the back being rushed to the hospital to try and save their lives. It may be your child or a neighbors child in need of medical attention that cannot be given at home. Just think! What if it was someone of yours would you want the best of care given to them? So please understand the next time you confront a ambulance, that ambulances are not joy riding around with their lights and sirens on just for kicks. Do your part in helping to SAVE A LIFE! |
